Book your place for a breathing & meditation workshop with Swami Ambikananda

As part of our Bootcamp we are privileged to have Swami Ambika the founder of  ‘The Traditional Yoga Association’ guide us through four afternoons of Pranayama (breath control) and meditation training.

Ambikaji has a wonderful flare for reaching out to the novice as to the advanced practitioner in her very elegant and witty style, engaging and focusing on the finer details that make a practice complete and personal.

Every Vedic idea is matched with a scientific explanation and approach, and spirituality is brought out with a clarity that celebrates the magnanimity of our soul.

Ambikaji has a world of experience behind her and her knowledge and teachings express a wisdom and soulfulness of all her teachers before her.

Her publications include Principles of Breathwork, Healing Yoga and Age with Spirit, as well as translations from the Sanskrit of the Katha Upanishad and The Uddhava Gita, among others.

As a novice, she would bring the best out in you and as a practitioner you will be able to refine and cultivate a deeper understanding .

For a sneak peak into the details of the afternoon workshops:

Day 1 ~ Breathwork  ~ Breath and exercise and movement. Looking at the physiology of breathing and how we relate this to movement and exercise.

Day 2 ~ Breathwork and the Stillpoint ~ Breath is the bridge between movement and stillness. Finding that stillpoint in breath calms mind and body.

Day 3 ~ Meditation 1  ~ Research on meditation: what it does and how it does it. In 2011 in the USA alone there were 149 government funded research projects into the benefits of meditation. We will look at the outcomes of some meta analysis of these studies.

Day 4 ~ Meditation 2 ~ The difference between open awareness techniques (vipassana, mindfulness) and directed awareness techniques (TM, Yoga Dhyanam, Laya).

All days will have a strong practical and participatory element alongside the theory and information.
